We bridge the development gap between recent grads and today’s workforce.
RoadMap is the early-career guide you didn’t know you needed.
Why we founded Roadmap
Because finding your first job is HARD and nobody should ever be alone.
Between the pandemic, the economy, social media, and now AI taking over hiring, finding a job has never been more difficult or more lonely. As executives we saw first hand how LinkedIn had become an overwhelming glut of content and as recruiters, we recognized that humans were no longer reading resumes and it was simply becoming impossible for anyone to break through with job submissions. There was no place for recent graduates to go for help and the gap kept getting wider.
We saw the opportunity to close the gap by giving people who are early in their career their own private network and their own support system, where everything was designed just for them. RoadMap is a private network where ambitious young people can be themselves, be supported, and thrive.
Meet Kristine.
Graduating from Marist College, Kristine had a small East Coast network and no idea how to find her first job. She was fortunate enough to have a kind neighbor who introduced her to her niece, who was hiring for an assistant position at an ad agency. Graduating with a Communications degree and no clear direction for her career, she quickly accepted the job and the offer of $18,000 per year. The ad agency environment was hard work but incredibly fun, and it was where Kristine realized the myriad of jobs available in the media and marketing industry. Due to her hard work and hustle, Kristine was promoted multiple times at the agency. With an itch to do more, and with experience under her belt, she moved to San Francisco, where she intentionally began her search for a position in sales and tech. After networking and taking meetings with over 50 people, she landed her dream job at age 26, which opened new doors for connections and earnings.
Kristine has had a wildly successful career spanning years of work at notable companies in Silicon Valley and New York. She has founded multiple companies, including the renowned executive recruiting firm Shine Talent. She credits her success to two things: her network and her work ethic, and she co-founded RoadMap to help recent graduates find their own success and career happiness.
Meet Liam.
Liam Roecklein’s journey to co-founding RoadMap was fueled by the challenges he faced entering the workforce during the Great Recession. Despite graduating magna cum laude from Sacred Heart University in 2011, it took him 18 months to secure his first full-time job.
His early roles at Zazoom and Major League Baseball provided valuable experience in digital media, but the struggle to get there left a lasting impression.
As his career advanced, Liam took on key roles, becoming an Executive Producer at Time Inc. and later rising to Senior Vice President at Cheddar News and PointsBet. His leadership played a crucial role in the $200 million sale of Cheddar to Altice USA and PointsBet’s $225 million sale to Fanatics Betting & Gaming. However, the memory of his early challenges continued to resonate.
These experiences inspired Liam to create RoadMap, a platform dedicated to helping young professionals. Drawing from his own journey, he is committed to providing the support and guidance he once needed, ensuring the next generation is equipped to navigate the career landscape with confidence.
